The Athens Township Trustees meet in regular session at the Athens Township Hall, 313 W. Union Street, at 5:30 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month.

Meeting date, location, and/or time changes or special meetings are published in the Athens Messenger if time permits. Alternatively, the local media and any other person or organization asking for notification are always informed of any change of date, time or place and for any special meetings in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 121.22 (F). Notification may also be posted on the front page of the Athens Township  website.

Those speaking or attending a meeting of the Athens Township Trustees are subject to the Public Conduct and Public Participation resolution adopted by the Trustees.

State law authorizes Ohio townships to operate under a basic form of government and perform a wide variety of functions. There are 1,308 townships in Ohio and they are varied in population size, annual operating budget, and range of services delivered to residents.
