The Athens Township Zoning Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month
The Athens Township Zoning Commission meets as needed at the Athens County Public Library Plains Branch, 14 S. Plains Road, The Plains, Ohio 45780 at 6:00 PM on the third Tuesday of each month in order to consider amendments to the voter approved zoning code and map adopted by the resident electors of the area regulated by the zoning code. The Commission was appointed by the Athens Township Board of Trustees having the powers, purposes, and provisions set forth in Ohio Revised Code §§ 519.01 to 519.99, inclusive, including additions to territory in which a township zoning plan is in effect. Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22 (C)
At each meeting both a public comment period and a question & answer session at the beginning and end of each meeting, respectively, encourage citizen participation.
Special meetings may occur at other times and/or locations with prior public notice.
